The positive effects of conscious breathing are many. You can release stress by simply stopping and deep breathing. In my opinion, there is no way of doing it wrong. I have studied multiple modalities and found healing in all. Breath is our connection to life and is my number one healing tool. Deep full breathing massages and tones our internal organs and stomach muscles.
The use of breath to is a skill everyone could benefit from learning. Breath is one of the most efficient, effective, and safe methods for improving our health, emotional state, and mental clarity.
I studied breath work and yoga in the late 1960’s in California. I did re-birthing breath work in the 1970’s in upstate New York. I also studied Kundalini breath work while living in a Sivananda’s Ashram in the late 1970’s north of Montreal, Canada. It was there that I fasted once for 40 days.
In the 1980’s, I learned Yogi Breath Walking while in Austin, Texas. In the 1990’s I fell in love with transformational breath work and became a Transformational Breath Work Facilitator on August 13, 1995. The breath work saved me from going down a rabbit hole of darkness and depression after losing our 13-year-old child to cancer. I did seminars with my dear friend Coe Savage. I also studied and became a Reiki Master two separate times with different teachers.
On April 4, 2000, I became a certified Hypnotherapist while living in San Antonio, Texas. And on November 19, 2000, I successfully completed a 20-day course of study in the skills, techniques, and principles of NLP. Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
On June 24, 2012, I completed 4 levels of Healer Training in California with David Elliott, author of The Reluctant Healer.
In 2014, I also did breath work with Kirti Carter. She was using Kriya Yoga, a breathing meditation that they were using for the military folks returning from Afghanistan and the Iraq wars with post-traumatic stress disorders. A study done by Stanford University found that their anxiety and PTSD symptoms reduced after just one week. I have embraced “bellows breath” in my routine.
In 2022, I studied with Wim Hof from the Netherlands by zoom. His work is simple and very empowering, and you can find him on YouTube. I also in 2022, I have had extensive study and completion with Raymond Aaron’s Mulberry Hill Gang Workshop and his Speaker and Communication workshops.
And in August of 2022, I found Dr. Joe Dispenza’s supernatural breathing technique. I have learned to breathe into my stomach and up to my chest…and then holding my breath…allow my breath to go down to my root chakra and up to my crown chakra. We are all energy, and our field of energy is expansive. I still love my transformation breath work from the 1990’s and do it when I am feeling blocked or stuck. And in 2023, I was blessed to find Dr. Sue Morter and her Central Channel Breath and Breath of Fire.
HURRICANES OF HEALING BOOK
Talya has written the groundbreaking book "Hurricanes of Healing", chronicling her journey of recovery over more than 7 decades from a series of horrible traumas - rape both as a small child and later as a young woman, the death of her son from painful childhood cancer, and a life-threatening car accident that left her hospitalized for more than a week, and then in a wheel chair for months.
Talya shares her journey from the dark days of pain, rage, and depression to her current state of joy and contentment, as proof that full recovery from unspeakable trauma can be achieved.
And in the book, she shares many of the self-help techniques and tools that she employed in the process - so you too can take advantage of these simple, easy, and free resources to help you in your journey of healing.
And as a retreat attendee, you will receive your own autographed copy of the book!
Talya has done many different things in her life. She taught school in the Watts section of Los Angeles, California during the riots in the early 70s.
In her first corporate job, she became a manager in record time. She quickly moved up the ladder, eventually becoming the first female state director over the state of Florida and then on to area vice-president over Texas.
She has also owned her own business. She has served on five boards and traveled more than she could have ever dreamed possible. She is super happy in her relationships with her husband, family, friends, animals and their home.
It hasn’t always been like this for Talya. She was sexually abused as a child and buried the memory for over three decades. As a young adult, she was assaulted and raped by two men. However, the most devastating was the loss of their thirteen-year-old child to a rare brain cancer in 1995.
It sank her into a deep depression, so Talya delved into the healing modalities. She became a Transformational Breath Work facilitator, a licensed Hypnotist, NLP facilitator, Reiki Master and studied Art Therapy for years.
She wrote Hurricanes of Healing to demonstrate that you can survive and come out thriving. She is open to speaking to groups and does seminars, and weekend retreats with fellow healers. Her heart would be filled with joy to help you shortcut the healing processes that took her so many years to uncover.
